GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Iron Dames delivered their strongest WEC performance yet, with CÉLIA MARTIN earning the team’s first Hyperpole appearance of 2025 after posting P9 in qualifying. The bronze-rated driver then executed a masterful opening double stint, running clean and fast while climbing from P7 to second overall, consistently matching the pace of platinum-rated competitors and proving she belongs at this level.
- RAHEL FREY took over for a spectacular middle stint that had us all believing in a maiden podium. The Swiss driver broke into the 1:35s immediately, pulled off a brilliant Turn 1 pass to take the lead, and kept Iron Dames in contention throughout her stint. Her consistent pace and racecraft showed exactly why this team has been building momentum since their points-scoring breakthrough at Imola.
- MICHELLE GATTING’s final stint was pure grit—racing with a broken foot while defending second place against fresher-tired opponents in a nail-biting finish. Despite a costly drive-through penalty for FCY procedure and late pressure from Charlie Eastwood and Eduardo Barrichello, she fought until the final corners before dropping to P4. The heartbreak stings, but this performance signals Iron Dames are done being also-rans in LMGT3.
UPCOMING:
- 4 Hours of Spa ELMS – August 24
- Lone Star Le Mans COTA – September 7
