GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • RAHEL FREY delivered exactly what we’ve come to expect from Iron Dames – consistent, competitive pace that puts them right in the mix. Her P2 finish in LMGT3 was just four tenths off the class leader, proving once again that this all-female crew belongs at the sharp end of the grid. While the overall session belonged to BMW’s Sheldon van der Linde, the real story was in LMGT3 where the talent spread was tight.
  • The session wasn’t without drama for women competitors, as Akkodis ASP faced mixed fortunes with their Lexus entries. While Finn Gehrsitz topped LMGT3 times in the No. 78, the sister No. 87 car hit trouble early with gearbox issues. It’s the kind of mechanical lottery that can make or break a weekend, but at least we saw genuine pace from multiple manufacturers in the class.
  • With six different manufacturers filling the top six spots overall, this Bahrain weekend is shaping up to be genuinely competitive across the board. FREY’s strong showing for Iron Dames sets up what should be an intriguing LMGT3 battle, where consistency often trumps outright pace over eight hours of racing. The gaps are tight enough that strategy and execution will determine the winners.

UPCOMING:

  • FP3 – 12 p.m. local time (4 a.m. ET)
  • 8 Hours of Bahrain Race Weekend
