GRRL! SUMMARY:
- The Iron Dames delivered a masterclass in redemption at Barcelona, with CÉLIA MARTIN, SARAH BOVY, and MICHELLE GATTING securing their first ELMS victory after last year’s heartbreaking retirement. MARTIN made a stunning series debut, qualifying second and leading from the front row start, while managing tire wear like a seasoned pro. Her bronze-rated performance earned her the Goodyear Wingfoot Award as most valuable LMGT3 driver – not bad for your first day at the office.
- SARAH BOVY stepped up brilliantly in her first race as a silver-rated driver, maintaining the team’s advantage under intense pressure while the competition shuffled behind them. The Belgian’s trademark consistency shone through as she managed the gap and delivered her fastest laps when it mattered most. Her emotional dedication of the win to injured teammate Marta García showed exactly why this team works – they race for each other, not just themselves.
- MICHELLE GATTING proved once again why pressure is her best friend, holding off a charging Daniel Serra in the closing stages with ice-cold precision. When the Ferrari closed in during the final thirty minutes, Gatting didn’t crack – she got stronger. “I knew I was more in control than they were,” she said afterward, and watching her defend that lead, we absolutely believe it. This is what championship-caliber driving looks like when everything’s on the line.
