GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Fresh off their Barcelona season opener win, the Iron Dames crew found themselves fighting success ballast and strategic gambles at Le Castellet. CÉLIA MARTIN’s bold slick tire choice in the rain initially paid massive dividends—she carved through the field from dead last to second place while setting fastest lap times. When the downpour intensified, that same strategy bit back hard, dropping them a lap down and forcing a complete reset.
- SARAH BOVY stepped into chaos and made it work, taking over during mixed conditions and methodically climbing from 10th to 8th. Her stint showcased exactly the kind of adaptability we love to see—struggling initially on the slippery track before finding her groove and posting competitive lap times that kept pace with Pro drivers in faster machinery. A timely safety car brought them back onto the lead lap, proving sometimes you need a little luck to go with the skill.
- MICHELLE GATTING delivered the goods in the final hour, immediately setting new fastest laps for the team and pushing the gap to sixth place down to just seven seconds before the checkered flag. The seventh-place finish might not match their Barcelona heroics, but scoring points while dealing with success ballast and wild weather conditions shows this crew knows how to maximize difficult weekends. That’s championship-building mentality right there.
