GRRL! SUMMARY:
- MARIA HERRERA took the WorldWCR season opener at Assen in dramatic fashion, inheriting the win when BEATRIZ NEILA was penalized for track limits after overtaking her on the final lap. The 0.133-second margin tells the story of a race-long battle that had us on the edge of our seats – this is exactly what the sport needed to kick off year two of WorldWCR.
- Rookie AVALON LEWIS announced herself with authority, jumping from second row to P3 at the start and holding her own in a three-way battle with veterans SARA SANCHEZ and Roberta Ponziani. While SANCHEZ ultimately claimed the final podium spot, Lewis’s P4 finish proves the new generation isn’t here to make up numbers – they’re here to compete.
- CHLOE JONES delivered another standout rookie performance with P6, while Americans MALLORY DOBBS (P15) and SONYA LLOYD (P18) have work to do to match the European pace. The depth of competition is clear when someone like ASTRID MADRIGAL can charge from P11 to P8, proving this championship has the talent to deliver week after week.
