• ALEXIS DEJORIA claimed the provisional No. 1 spot in Funny Car after rain cut qualifying short at Bristol, running 3.948 at 328.14 mph in her Bandero Premium Tequila Toyota GR Supra. The veteran driver hasn’t held a top qualifier since 2021, but her JCM Racing team is clearly hitting their stride at a track where she won in 2021 and has consistently found success.
• ANGIE SMITH sits third in Pro Stock Motorcycle after posting a 6.907 at 196.53 on her Buell, putting her in solid position behind rookie sensation Brayden Davis and Richard Gadson. Smith continues her steady campaign in the competitive PSM field, maintaining her spot among the series’ top contenders at Thunder Valley.
• BRITTANY FORCE ended up fifth in Top Fuel with a 3.899 at 288.95 mph after only one qualifying session due to rain, while IDA ZETTERSTROM struggled to a 16.323 pass that left her 13th in the field. Force remains in the hunt despite the limited track time, but both women will need Saturday’s sessions to improve their positions for eliminations.
